Ross Weiner, Ph.D., CFP^®

I am a Lead Planner and Partner at Sterling Financial Group, working closely with clients to achieve their financial goals. My role involves coordinating with other members of Sterling to develop customized portfolios and financial plans. Additionally, I am responsible for monitoring the firm's compliance and regulatory activity, as well as contributing to the development of our financial portfolio models and overall economic outlook. With over 17 years of experience in the financial services industry, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my work.

Before joining Sterling, I was a tenured professor of economics at The City College of New York. I hold BA, MA, and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I also served as a lecturer. My consulting work has included engagements with the University of Transkei, the South African Government, and research on the economic impact of transportation infrastructure and sports arenas on local and regional growth. I obtained my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation in 2008, further enhancing my ability to guide clients effectively.

What motivates me most is the reward of helping clients achieve their goals. I take great pleasure in learning about my clients' lives, understanding what motivates them, and addressing their concerns, goals, and values. This personalized approach allows me to provide tailored financial advice that aligns with each client's unique situation and aspirations.

Outside of work, I am an avid road cyclist and ride for Team Breakthrough T1D, raising funds to cure Type 1 Diabetes. I am also an active member of the New Jersey-Rockland County chapter of Breakthrough T1D. In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar, hiking, visiting national parks, and kayaking, all of which provide a perfect balance to my professional life.
